UBC Intro Stats: Resources: Java Applets

We discussed the use of Java Applets for teaching Introductory Statistics on October 27. Notes are available. The main conclusion is that applets are useful but most of the available ones are not perfect in a variety of ways (not showing important things, confusing with too many obscure details etc). The pefect solution would be to hire someone to modify the currently available open source applets (e.g. these) to our standards.

The most useful resource is Mike Whitlock's lab page. The rest of the links and information are in the meeting notes.

Upd (Dec 1, 2008). Short discussion during the next meeting.
