Just a reminder from our discussion in class: The Midterm is 2 March and we start at 8:15 am.

Please be on time!

Also, Problem set 4 is due the 23 of February. I really want you to have a week to study for the midterm.

Announcements

OK, just found the link to an online textbook that looks pretty good.

It covers, say, 2/3 (maybe 3/4) of the material in Stat/Math 302 albeit from a different perspective.

I cannot change the recommended text for the course, but I can suggest you supplement it with Grinstead and Snell, Introduction to Probability.

This may be helpful, at least temporarily, since the price of the text is so high, and the bookstore has not seen fit to order enough copies.

The link is:

http://www.dartmouth.edu/~chance/teaching_aids/books_articles/probability_book/amsbook.mac.pdf

I strongly recommend that if you download and use the book that you express fulsome thanks to the authors. I didn't find email addresses for them, but didn't look very ahrd either.
